Thank you so much!! I loved that sweet Baby.

Oh I know. It was a no-kill shelter, which is the only way I could handle any of it. But it was SUCH an emotional job. I wanted to adopt at least 10 dogs that would've been perfect for me, hehe! I never did adopt any animals from there. I lasted at that job about 10 months, not even a full year. I cried at the happy stories, the sad stories (I never realized no-kill doesn't mean never-kill, it means they don't euthanize to make space, but they totally euthanize if a dog has behavior problems that's keeping them from being adopted for too long, e.g. longer than 6 months), I cried at the dogs who came in all neglected and pitiful, the dogs who were adopted in spite of their special needs that we thought would keep them from ever getting adopted. It was a cry fest on at least a weekly basis, I swear. It was exhausting, and I've never worked at a shelter again! I did work at a zoo though and that ended up nearly as emotional a gig as the shelter job. But a much better experience overall.
